Graduate Certificate Programs in Rehabilitation Science

This three-course certificate offers both fall or spring start options.

Current Tufts Occupational Therapy students who are interested in this content and practice area are also invited to apply.

Graduates of the certificate program have gone on to earn positions in the most respected hand therapy departments throughout the country. when applying for hand therapy positions. They report that they use the resources from these courses to study for and pass the American Society of Hand Therapists ( ASHT) certification examination, earning the designation: CHT. Others use this advanced study to support clinical laddering and advancement to clinical specialist within their current place of work.

Students who are earning their entry level degree concurrently, are often awarded fieldwork in coveted hand therapy placements.

The online Assistive and Rehabilitative Technology Certificate (ARTC) program focuses on the application of science and technology to improve the quality of life of individuals with disabilities. The program provides students with an educational foundation to prepare them for the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) assistive technology professional exam. The online program is flexible, offering the opportunity for students to complete the certificate program online. Utilizing educational technologies, including case study videos and discussions, students receive a breadth of educational experiences.

Those currently employed as a rehabilitation technician or technologist or are looking to become one.

Admissions to the BS-MLS Clinical Year MLS Certificate.

A baccalaureate or graduate degree in a field related to health or rehabilitation science.

At least a B average (3.0 4.0 system) in all college work, or other evidence of promise that is judged satisfactory by the program and the Graduate School.

Prior clinical or research experience in a field related to health or rehabilitation science (e.g. completed clinical rotations as an occupational therapy student worked as a research assistant in a rehabilitation research lab).

English proficiency is required of all UC applicants whose native language is not English. Students can demonstrate proficiency in a number of ways at the graduate level.
