The Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship is designed to help develop innovative and insightful change agents who may choose to run their own ventures or influence the activities of organizations in which they work. Consistent with Catholic University’s rich tradition, this certificate program will help students create, develop, and sustain innovative ideas that will integrate theory and practice in pursuit of social justice, teaching students incorporate entrepreneurial methods in solving social problems. To earn the Certificate, students must complete seven core courses (21 credits) with a C or better. Students who have already completed similar courses at other institutions may for transfer credit, but they must complete at least five of the courses at The Catholic University of America to earn the certificate. Typically, credits earned toward a certificate program may be applied toward Catholic University bachelor degree programs as well.

The Woodrow Wilson School offers a Graduate Certificate in Health and Health Policy, sponsored by the Center for Health and Wellbeing. The certificate trains graduate students for careers in health-related areas in the public and not-for-profit sectors. The program is designed for graduate students with domestic and international health interests and provides both broad training in core topics in health and health policy as well as courses in specialized areas. Woodrow Wilson School MPA and MPP students are eligible for the certificate. The Woodrow Wilson School offers a certificate in Urban Policy (UP), primarily for its own master students, but graduate students from other Princeton departments are eligible to earn the certificate. The policy focus is global, and the coursework is grounded in the interdisciplinary and comparative study of cities and urban problems in both advanced industrialized and developing countries. The Graduate Certificate in Latin American Studies is open to all Princeton University graduate students currently enrolled in any Ph.D. program in the humanities, social sciences, engineering, math or natural sciences. Students enrolled in the Master in Public Administration Degree Program at the Woodrow Wilson School may also enroll in the certificate if they write a research paper on a Latin American topic in consultation with the program director.

Information, documents, or biospecimens protected by this Certificate cannot be disclosed to anyone else who is not connected with the research except if there is a federal, state, or local law that requires disclosure (such as to report child abuse or communicable diseases, see below) if you have consented to the disclosure, including for your medical treatment if it is used for other scientific research, as allowed by federal regulations protecting research subjects. The researchers will voluntarily disclose information to the appropriate authorities evidence of child abuse, and or intent to hurt yourself or others.

The Instructional I program in Social Studies Education offers students a rigorous course of instruction in teaching Social Studies topics in grades 7-12. The program satisfies the requirements for earning a Pennsylvania Instructional I Certification. This intensive, two-term program combines rigorous coursework with substantial hands-on teaching experience to give graduates both the theoretical grounding and real-world skill they will need to embark upon their teaching careers. Placements occur in a number of districts around the University of Pittsburgh, including Pittsburgh Public Schools, and many local suburban districts. Placements are made by the University, based on student interests and commuting information. During the time in the placement, a Pitt supervisor will visit a minimum of five times per semester these observations provide direct and specific feedback for improvement and make sure all students are on track to successfully graduate the program and obtain their certification. The Instructional I in Social Studies Education satisfies the requirements for a Pennsylvania Instructional I Certificate, pending:. Master of Special Education with Academic Instruction Certificate (MOSAIC).

The mission of this certificate is to educate students gerontological theories and practices and provide students with gerontological internship and service learning experiences. These educational objectives will give these students the skills that they need for frontline positions in practice and administrative positions in social service organizations. Certificate in Pastoral Ministry for the United Kingdom. Certificate in Parish Health and Pastoral Care Ministry. Institutions are required to provide information for programs that are federal student aid eligible and that lead to certificates, diplomas, graduate certificates, or specialist awards. The graduate certificate in Social Justice is intentionally designed in direct consultation with the best practices of community-based organizations. It prepares people for faith-based leadership in social advocacy, community and labor organizing, and systemic social change. The program combines theoretical and practical learning in social justice and activism. The Graduate Certificate in Drug and Addiction Studies is a cross-disciplinary program offered to post-baccalaureate students interested in advanced education in addictions. The purpose of the program is to expand professional capacity in prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery for individuals and families impacted by the disease of addiction. The Graduate Certificate in Drug and Addiction Studies is designed to develop broad competencies including professional and ethical responsibility, policy advocacy, community education, clinical evaluation, treatment planning, referral, and service coordination in preparation for employment in professional fields addressing alcohol and drug-related problems. I chose the certificate program because I wanted to learn why people become addicted to drugs and alcohol, and help them cope with challenges without returning to their old habits. I want to be part of the solution and not the problem.
