Admission is based on the strength of the entire application package and not a single element such as test scores or GPA. Obtaining a specific score on the GRE TOEFL or a high GPA does not guarantee admission.
Biomedical Engineering
If their grades or GRE scores do not reflect their ability, this should be explained in the Statement of Purpose.
The official GRE scores will eventually be delivered to us, but applicant should also enter them on their application form.
Engineering Professional Master’s Programs
Rice University requires all applicants to provide GRE General Test scores.

University of Virginia School of Engineering and Applied Science
Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher, and GREs are required from those applying for full-time study.
An GPA of 3.0 or better is required for admission. GRE scores are recommended for all applicants, and are required for anyone applying for full-time study or seeking merit-based scholarships.
In either case, a GPA of 3.0 or better is required in all previous degree programs and a GPA of 3.5 or better is typically expected. GRE scores are required for all full-time PhD applicants.
All doctoral students must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or better at all times and a B or better for the dissertation, and some departments have further specific course or grade requirements that must be fulfilled.
Grades for transferred credits or courses are not recorded and are not included in GPA calculations.
However, these courses are included in the calculation of a student’s graduate GPA. Courses are not included in the student’s GPA calculation.
The first time a graduate student repeats a course, the lower grade is not counted towards the GPA. All subsequent grades in a course repeated than once are included in the GPA, although degree credit is earned only once.

Students are reviewed based on their entire application including their statement of purpose, personal history and diversity statement, letters of recommendation, GPA, GRE scores, and TOEFL IELTS scores.
GRE scores must be sent electronically directly from Educational Testing Services to UC Davis.
The University of California-Davis does not have a minimum score for the GRE since applications are reviewed holistically. However, poor performance on the GRE can be very detrimental to an application.
Average GRE scores for admitted applicants vary from year to year but are typically as follows: Verbal ~ 157, Quantitative ~163, and Analytical ~4.5.

IELTS: Official IELTS score reports should uploaded directly to your application in which the Test Report Form number is visible. This number can be found in a text box towards the bottom right of your IELTS score results page. If uploaded correctly, we will verify your IELTS scores and you will not need to send hard copies of the score report.
Generally to be qualified for admissions consideration, applicants are required to hold an engineering or technology degree in a closely related major. For Energy Systems, quantitative business or finance majors are acceptable if candidates also have some background in computer science and calculus.

If, for instance, their GRE scores were not competitive with the pool, applicant may be advised to retake the test.
