Graduate Admissions Process Psychology

Psychology is the study of behavior from cognitive, social, clinical and biological perspectives. Among other things, psychologists study the most effective ways to deal with others and how humans can best adapt to change, stress and a variety of other situations that are a part of daily living. Major subfields within the discipline include human cognition, emotion, behavior, social interactions and mindbrain relationships. In addition, upperdivision courses explore behavioral genetics, cognitive neuroscience, cognitive psychology, clinical psychology, child development, women’s health and judgment and decision making.

The university program has eliminated the GRE General Test for admission to the Fall 2021 class. The university will NOT consider GRE scores for applications submitted for this application cycle. Applicants should not submit their GRE scores through ETS nor report their scores in the application portal or on their CVs or personal statements. If GRE scores are submitted, these scores will not be considered when the application is reviewed.

A completed application includes an official transcript and GRE scores, a personal statement, and three letters of recommendation.
