Residents accepted into the UC San Diego Health PGY2 Internal Medicine residency program will have the benefit of participating within established clinical services to treat adult medicine patients in both an inpatient and outpatient setting as well as opportunities to incorporate transitions of care services to new or previously established services.

Eligible applicants must have graduated from an accredited school of pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and successfully completed an ASHP accredited PGY1 pharmacy practice residency.

PGY2 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy education and PGY1 pharmacy residency programs to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in specialized areas of practice. Residents who successfully complete an accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency are prepared for advanced patient care, academic, or other specialized positions, along with board certification.

For clinical experience, research experience, and volunteer experience, the university recognize that most applicants are unable to complete in-person hours right now. The university will use discretion during the review process to take this into account however, the university existing recommendations for preparatory experience will remain in place. Stanford University has two requirements for admission: a qualifying bachelor degree and completion of the CASPer assessment.

Applicants must have a bachelor degree from a regionally accredited academic institution in the United States or Canada or a graduate degree from the United States by July 15 of the year of matriculation.

The Stanford University does not accept WES equivalencies in place of degree requirements. The Stanford University does not provide waivers or exceptions for applicants without a qualifying degree.

Applicants with degrees in progress at the time of application may be conditionally accepted into the program but must demonstrate that they are on track to complete their degree.

In order to practice in California or any other state, physician assistant graduates must pass the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination and apply for state licensure. DACA students are currently eligible to apply for and obtain a license to practice as a physician assistant in California however, this varies by state.

Applicants are considered for admission to the Stanford MSPA program without regard to their country of origin. Eligible applicants include the students.S. citizens, permanent the students.S. residents holding a valid visa, applicants who have been granted Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals by the the students.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services at the time of application, undocumented applicants, and international applicants.

While this legislation generally prohibits post-secondary institutions from considering criminal backgrounds in the admissions process it does not prohibit criminal background checks for matriculated students.

Applicants and matriculants with a criminal conviction should consult with these entities prior to matriculation to ensure they will be eligible for licensure upon completion of their degree.

Completion of the GRE, MCAT, or PA-CAT is not required in order for applications to be eligible for review. The university recommend that applicants complete either the Graduate Record Examinations , the Medical College Admission Test® examination, or the Physician Assistant College Admission Test , but the university will review all eligible applications regardless of standardized test completion.

Applicants taking the PA-CAT should designate Stanford as one of the schools to send their scores to, and then PA-CAT will send official scores directly to us.

Applicants are encouraged to complete CASPer before submitting the CASPA application, but applicants may submit the CASPA application prior to completing the CASPer assessment if desired.

The final CASPer test date for the university program for the 2021-2022 admission cycle is July 29, 2021.

Due to the high volume of applicants, please note that the Stanford University is unable to confirm receipt of individual CASPer results.

CASPer test results are only valid for one admission cycle applicants who have completed CASPer in previous cycles must retake it for the current cycle.

The Stanford University does not have a minimum GPA requirement.

The CASPA application fee for the 2022-2023 application cycle is $179 for the first program and $56 for each additional program.

The university admission team reviews all eligible applications on a semi-rolling basis. The only advantage to applying early is that applicant may be notified of the status of their application sooner there is no other advantage to applying early.

Denial letters may be sent anytime between September 2021 and December 2021.
