Applicants must apply for admission into the technical phase of the Physical Therapist Assistant program. The technical phase slots will be filled by applicants with the greatest academic potential for success as determined by the ranking process. Applicants with the highest numerical ranking will be admitted to the technical phase of the program.
Applicants are not eligible for admittance into any portion of the PTA program if they have a felony conviction, plea, or adjudication withheld, or any disqualifying misdemeanor, for which a pardon or exemption for disqualification has not been received, including but not limited to rape or sexual abuse or molestation, and abuse, endangerment, or neglect of a child, disabled person, or elderly person.
Applicants with positive drug screen results will not be admitted into the PTA Program.
Applicants must complete an American Heart Association BLS CPR certification course and provide a copy of a valid card at the time of application.
Applicants must complete a health screening before participating in the ranking process.
Applicants must complete 25 hours of observation in a physical therapy setting documented by a licensed PT or PTA on the appropriate form provided in the admissions packet.
Applicants must achieve a 2.85 CGPA or greater in prerequisite coursework.
Applicants must submit ATI Test of Essential Academic Skills scores.

Admission requirements for Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program:
1.Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.2 for last 60 hours of Bachelor's/relevant Master's degree; also, the minimum GPA in prerequisite courses is 3.0.
2.Official transcripts from each college/university previously attended.
3.Resume.
4.Three professional references, two of the three references must be from a physical therapist (PT).
5.A minimum of 40 hours of volunteer/observation experience in each of two different physical therapy settings (a total minimum of 80 hours).
6.Essay.

Applicants must earn a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States prior to matriculation into the DPT program. Applicants may have a degree in progress at the time of application, but must have a plan in place to have the degree conferred prior to the beginning of the courses in July.
Applicants must achieve a minimum 3.0 GPA in the most recent 60 credit hours of coursework at the time of application.
Due to the limited number of seats and our policy of offering admission on a rolling basis, applicants are strongly encouraged to complete the application process early in the cycle.
