A Master's in Cybersecurity is offered at CUNY City College. This is a component of a larger project aimed at igniting the cybersecurity industry and positioning New York City as the cybersecurity capital of the world. The objective of City College is to provide a curriculum that is informed by industry and gives students the real-world skills they need to succeed in the workplace.

It is a 30-credit program. The curriculum includes:

• 12 credit hours in four core courses
• Two cybersecurity electives at minimum (6–15 credits)
• Maximum Three Equivalent Electives (0–9 credits)
• Project for Master's Design (3 credits)

It also aims to connect classroom instruction with business-sponsored events like internships. Some learning outcomes of the master's program are:

• The capacity to comprehend the architecture and component functions of computer networks and to develop them.
• Expertise in industry-driven best practices, practical application of cybersecurity tools and procedures, and familiarity with emerging technologies.

We are a small, selective program with a mix of mid-career professionals and recent graduates who attend both full and part time. Our students are from New York and beyond with most working in IT or other fields, all dedicated to beginning a career in digital forensics and cybersecurity.

All courses are offered on-campus, typically on Monday through Thursday evenings to accommodate working students.

Admission to the D4CS program requires a background in computer science with the ability to succeed in graduate computer science, criminal justice and law courses.

Admission to the program will also be based on the following criteri .

All applicants are required to submit a resume. Applicants who hold advanced graduate or professional degrees from an English language based program are advised, but not required, to submit GRE scores. Interested candidates who lack some or all of the computer science prerequisite courses may be admitted to CSIBridge, our Computer Science for Digital Forensics advanced certificate program. Successful completion of the CSIBridge program leads to seamless transfer into the D4CS master degree program.

Cybersecurity includes 30 credits of coursework over two semesters followed by a 3-6-credit summer internship or thesis in which you solve real-world problems.

Human Aspects of Cybersecurity OR Psychology of Security.

This track prepares you to apply security analytics, risk assessment and policy management to protecting health information.

This track covers computer hardware and operating systems, cybersecurity threats and controls, network monitoring, vulnerability scanning, anomaly and intrusion detection, incident response methods, and machine learning and artificial intelligence in cyber defense.

All students who submit a scholarship application and successfully complete five program courses with an overall GPA of 3.0 B or higher will be considered.

By the end of the program, you will be well equipped to work in intelligence agencies, security operation centers and consulting firms.

By the end of the program, you will be well equipped to work in forensics laboratories, police agencies, forensics consulting firms and federal law enforcement agencies.

Data Analytics for Cyber Security OR Business Analytics and Data Mining.

Virtually every enterprise in operation today relies on computer systems and digital networks to stay in business.

This means that millions of trained cybersecurity and digital forensics experts are needed to set up and maintain protected information systems across all industries and in global corporations, small companies, nonprofit organizations, and federal, state, and local government offices.

This degree is designated as a STEM program. International students maintaining F-1 status are allowed to apply for up to 12 months of post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT) following completion graduation from their degree program. Currently, this degree program is also designated by the land Security (DHS) as an eligible degree for the F-1 STEM OPT work authorization extension students who secure qualifying employment may be eligible to apply for the STEM OPT extension for a cumulative total of up to 36 months of F-1 OPT work authorization.

The GMAT and GRE will be waived as a requirement for admission to the Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity program through Fall 2024.

The Engineering Science MS program with a course focus in Cybersecurity is an interdisciplinary program in partnership with the UB School of Management. This program is designed for graduates and IT professionals looking to enhance their knowledge and expertise in cybersecurity. It equips students with the necessary skills to pursue various roles, including cybersecurity analysts, engineers, administrators, or consultants in industries or government sectors.

The curriculum encompasses essential concepts in cybersecurity, covering foundational principles and imparting practical skills. Students will gain hands-on experience applying security solutions and utilizing tools to safeguard cyber infrastructures. The program emphasizes real-world applications in sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing, and transportation systems, enabling students to protect critical systems from cyber threats effectively.

The master's degree program in information security and digital forensics (ISDF) is designed to prepare students and working professionals for an exciting and rewarding career in cybersecurity, both in government and in private business.
