The Epidemiology offers five concurrent degree programs:.

MS with PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB).

MPH with Master of Arts in International Studies (MAIS).

Individuals seeking an online program should consider the UW School of Public Health online MPH program. With the exception of three on-site sessions, classes are conducted online, giving students the flexibility to do their coursework largely on their own schedule and at their own location. The online MPH program is run through the UW Health Systems and Population Health and is not an epidemiology-specific degree.

The M.P.H. in epidemiology is a 45-credit degree granted by the Milken Institute School of Public Health. The curriculum prepares students to design and conduct epidemiologic studies, manage health data and make leadership decisions in public health and clinical epidemiology. The M.S. in epidemiology is a -credit program that is designed specifically for students interested in mastering in-depth research methods and training in the quantitative techniques necessary to conduct epidemiologic studies.

The Ph.D. in epidemiology is a 72-credit degree that prepares students for a career in epidemiologic research in an academic, government, or industry setting.

M.P.H. GRE general test (institutional code 5268), LSAT, MCAT, or GMAT. Waived for applicants who hold a graduate degree (i.e., M.A., M.S., J.D.).

Transcripts are required from all colleges and universities attended, whether or not credit was earned, the program was completed, or the credit appears as transfer credit on another transcript. Transcripts must be forwarded to SOPHAS in their original sealed envelopes directly from the institution. Official transcripts from institutions outside the United States must be accompanied by an official transcript evaluation from an accredited independent evaluating agency. For all programs: In an essay of approximately 1500 words, state your purpose in undertaking graduate study in your chosen field. Include your academic objectives, research interests, and career plans. Also discuss your related qualifications, including collegiate, professional, and community activities, and any other substantial accomplishments not already mentioned in the application. The Committee reviews your Statement of Purpose to determine your motivation for pursuing a career in public health and health services.
