A thesis or project is required for the capstone in the HIIM program. The thesis consists of original research on any topic in the area of health information management, health information systems and or health informatics. Oral presentation and defense of the thesis is required. The capstone project will be a rigorous project focused on a real-world health information, health information systems or health informatics setting and application of problem-solving methods for development of solutions. A final written report is required.
