Admission requirements for Master of Arts in Environmental Resource Policy at George Washington University:

Applicant can repeat information about their experiences found in their Statement of Purpose, but the university encourage applicant to highlight any experiences that show their understanding of groups historically underrepresented, and their commitment to serving underrepresented segments of society with their MRED+D degree.

The two required letters of recommendation provide the admissions committee with third party, qualitative accounts of their potential for success in the university program. The university require two letters of recommendation. The online application will prompt applicant for three letters of recommendation. If applicant are only submitting the required two, just enter their own name into the third space.

The university strongly prefer that letters of recommendation come from a current direct supervisor, former direct supervisor, or other individuals with whom applicant have had significant professional interaction. University of California-Berkeley has found the most helpful letters to be recent, relevant, and written specifically for this application. The university discourage letters of recommendation from subordinates, family, or friends.

The following courses will not fulfill this requirement: 1) courses in English as a Second Language, 2) courses conducted in a language other than English, 3) courses that will be completed after the application is submitted, and 4) courses of a non-academic nature.

There are two standardized tests applicant may take: the Test of English as a Foreign Language , and the International English Language Testing System

While this is not a requirement, the university encourage applicants to submit images of work, writing samples, and/or past projects with their application.

Applicant may begin filling out the application form, save it, add information, and edit and proofread it as needed. Once applicant submit their completed application, applicant cannot make changes.

The priority deadline for Master’s applications is also December 15.

SEAS applicants generally provide GRE scores, but the university will also accept GMAT, LSAT, or MCAT scores.

Make sure their resume provides current educational information and professional experience, including dates. These dates should match their application. Their resume should be no longer than two pages.

Please do not repeat their academic statement of purpose.

All applicants must register and receive letters of recommendation from 3 letter writers.

Make sure their recommenders feel capable of writing a strong letter for applicant and give them plenty of time to complete the task

To complete the program and earn a certificate, a student must complete the four 3-credit courses in no more than three years, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
