LL.M. in International Law

College description: Full-time students complete the requirements for the LL.M. degree in one academic year Candidates for the LL.M. degree must satisfactorily complete 24 hours of academic credit, and will normally take no than four classes per semester.All students enrolled in TRACK 1 may enroll on a part-time or full-time basis.All students enrolled in TRACK 2 must attend on a full-time basis.Full-time students are scheduled to complete the requirements for the LL.M. degree within one year.PART-TIME STATUS: Part-time students may enroll in as few as one course per semester and as many as three courses per semester. Part-time students are allowed a full three-year period to complete all requirements of the degree.TRACK 1: LL.M. in International LawStetson offers a mandatory two-week introductory course for foreign-educated students enrolled in the LL.M. program designed to facilitate the process of understanding and overcoming the challenges of the study of law in different legal and educational systems.The required core curriculum stresses those subjects of fundamental importance to all international attorneys in International Environmental Law or International Business Law, and features specialized workshops, independent study, and comparative legal research.Students in the LL.M. in International Law are graded on an honors basis. Personal Statement and Resumes Applicants must prepare a separate Personal Statement of less than 1200 words addressing the applicant's reasons for wishing to pursue the LL.M. in International Law. The Committee is particularly interested in reading about their special accomplishments; personal, professional or academic achievements any other information that may help us evaluate an application and understand the applicant's interest in earning this degree. The personal statement may also be used to bring to the committee's attention any information the applicant believes necessary to evaluate the applicant's candidacy but not otherwise reflected in the application.

Applicants are required to submit a résumé along with their personal statement and application.

For candidates seeking the LL.M. in International Law with an emphasis in Environmental Law or International Business, please also submit a statement of no more than 1,200 words to accompany the application

Online Master of Advanced Study in Criminology, Law and Society

Admission standards to UC Irvine require a minimum 3.0 GPA, but some special considerations may apply.

Their statement will be formally evaluated and is a significant part of their application. The Personal History and Statement of Purpose writing samples are submitted electronically as part of their online application. The Personal History should be 600 words or less and the Statement of Purpose should be 800 words or less.
