The GRE is no longer required as part of the application for the Arabic and Islamic Studies MA and/or Ph.D. program

Applicants considered for the program will be subject to an Arabic placement exam as part of the application process.

The application form must be submitted by the 15 January deadline. The online application system allows for the electronic submission of the application form and supporting application documents, such as the personal statement, resume, and writing sample, as well as online recommendations.

A non-refundable application fee of $90

The application form must be submitted with a non-refundable application fee. Requests for waiver of the application fee are not accepted. The Graduate School requires that an application fee accompany any application to one of the university graduate programs. Applicants will not receive a Graduate School decision on their application if the application fee is not paid. If transcripts are in a language other than English, English language translations must be provided. The English translation alone should be uploaded into your application.

4. Statement of purpose: In an essay of 250 – 500 words, state your purpose in undertaking graduate study in your chosen field. Include your academic objectives, research interests, and career plans. Also discuss your related qualifications, including collegiate, professional, and community activities, and any other substantial accomplishments not already mentioned on the application.
