For the GRE Mathematics Subject test applicant must take it by the October test date. For the GRE General test or TOEFL test applicant should allow two weeks from their test date for the official scores to arrive at Stanford.
Applicant must submit a complete application and application materials each time applicant apply to the PhD program. This includes letters of recommendation, test scores, and transcripts.
If any identifying information on their ETS score report is different from their online application, their scores may not be matched to their record. As long as applicant self-reported their scores on their application, those can be used for the initial review.
A Guide for Applicants to Graduate Study in Statistics
The university admissions committee bases its judgment on information about applicant supplied in their application and supporting documents.
Once applicant have created a Ph.D. application, go to the Statistics supplement page. Please note that there are steps required to finalize consideration for the M.S. program, including paying an extra application fee, completing a form, and submitting the additional M.S. application.
The admissions committee reads their application and, based on the information provided there, assesses their preparation in mathematics, statistics, and computing, their interests within statistics, and their potential for original research.
The various parts of their application shed light on these questions.
Students in the Master's program may choose an area of specialization , such as biostatistics, statistical genetics, statistical finance, environmental statistics, computational neuroscience, machine learning, pattern recognition, scientific computation, survey methodology, etc.
Their application will be reviewed according to the same criteria as all other applications.
University of Chicago has no minimum grade point average for admission to the university programs, but the University of Chicago does not view poor grades favorably, especially those obtained in statistics and mathematics courses.
Letters of recommendation provide insight into abilities, strengths, and weaknesses that cannot be reflected in grades and test scores alone.
Three letters of recommendation are required.
The university require the Graduate Record Examinations General Test of all applicants; in addition, it is strongly encouraged that applicants to the doctoral program take the GRE Mathematics Subject Test.
The GRE is offered several times a year by the Educational Testing Service Consequently, the university encourage applicants to take the GRE no later than August and to take it earlier if possible.

Instead, applicant should use the Candidate Statement as an opportunity to tell us about aspects of yourself that are not apparent from their transcript, such as extracurricular projects applicant have completed, work experience applicant have had, and so on. If applicant have completed graduate work elsewhere, their statement should include their reasons for wanting to change institutions or degree programs. This part of their statement is essential if applicant have completed more than two years of graduate study at other institutions.

If applicant are applying both to Statistics and to another University of Chicago program, applicant will submit separate applications and supporting materials to each program.The only exception is standardized test scores: all departments are able to access each other’s GRE and TOEFL records.
Admission to the PhD program is based on primarily on academic records, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement.

Proficiency can be demonstrated by submitting results from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language or the IELTS. Johns Hopkins prefers a minimum score of 100 on the TOEFL or a Band Score of 7 on the IELTS. Results should be sent to Johns Hopkins directly by TOEFL or IELTS. However, do not send the student copy or a photocopy of the TOEFL.

No application will be ignored simply because of a low test score or a low grade. The university look at the whole application.
Brown no longer requires the General GRE.
The mathematics Subject GRE is entirely optional.

Computational and Applied Mathematics
Admittance to a Rice University Computational and Applied Mathematic graduate-degree program requires a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent.
Applicants must submit their applications to the Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics using the online application system.
The application fee is $85 and must be paid before submitting an online application. The fee can be paid online using a major credit card. Applicants that believe they may be eligible for a fee waiver should contact the department; however, please note that fee waivers are only granted in rare cases.
Using the online application system, you must upload the following documents: unofficial copies of your University transcripts, statement of purpose, 3-4 letters of recommendation, GRE scores and, for international students, TOEFL scores.
The TOEFL or IELTS may be waived for an international student who has received a degree from a university at which English is the official language of communication.
Although the admissions committee may consider any test scores submitted, GRE subject tests are not required, but are considered if submitted.
At least three letters of recommendation are required; the preferred number is four.

A Note on the GRE Exams
The university require both the General GRE and the Mathematics Subject GRE exams.
There are two standardized tests applicant may take: the Test of English as a Foreign Language , and the International English Language Testing System
The IBT emphasizes integrated skills so its format and scoring are different from the PBT version of the TOEFL. Please plan to take the TOEFL as soon as possible, regardless of the test’s format, to avoid delays in the review of their application.
In making admissions decisions, the committee conducts a comprehensive review of applicants considering broader community impacts, academic performance in mathematics courses, level of mathematical preparation, letters of recommendation, and GRE scores.
If a student does not pass on the first attempt, then, on the recommendation of the student's examining committee, and subject to the approval of the Graduate Division, the student may repeat the examination once.
(International students are strongly encouraged to apply by March 1, or even earlier, because of the additional time required to arrange for immigration papers for admitted students.
Results of the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination are not required for admission to this program, however, scores can be sent as supplemental information for review if the GRE has been taken by the student.

The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor does not keep track of GRE averages.
The university accept TOEFL scores expiring in late fall or early winter as long as the official report from ETS is received before the deadline.

For nondegree study the requirements are fewer: the New York University does not require letters of recommendation, GRE's, or TOEFL's.
Applicant may submit more than three letters, but please do not do so unless the extra letter adds significant new information.

Mathematics at Illinois
The Fall 2021 deadline for PhD applications is December 15, 2020. All application materials and letters should be submitted by this date.
Applications received after the deadline may still be considered, but are not guaranteed full consideration.
First complete the online portion of the application, including payment of the application fee. Under-represented the students.S. minority applicants can apply for an application fee waiver.
Please include a 1-2 page personal statement as part of their online application.
The GRE general test and mathematics subject test are not required.
Students with high TOEFL or IELTS scores have a better chance of admission.
The Mathematics Department requires a minimum TOEFL iBT speak score of 22 and a minimum TOEFL total of 95 for admission to the PhD program. Even those students will increase their chance of admission if they submit recent TOEFL or IELTS scores.
The Georgia Institute of Technology-Main Campus does not need this form in order to decide on their application. If applicant are later offered admission and accept the offer, then applicant must submit the form promptly along with the required bank statement, before applicant can be admitted to the university and get a visa. The bank statement must show resources for the full cost of education and living expenses. If applicant are offered a teaching assistantship, then a bank statement showing about US$1,700 to cover any additional cost of living will be sufficient. Please note that applicant are not required to pay this amount, only to show evidence of such finances in a bank account.
To repeat: the Georgia Institute of Technology-Main Campus does not need this documentation now in order to review their application.

Official transcripts and two letters of recommendation are required. The GRE General Tests are not required, but they are very strongly recommended. The GRE Mathematics Subject Test score is also helpful, but it is less important than the General Test scores. However, most applicants have high grade point averages, high GRE scores, and strong letters of recommendation. A bachelor's degree or an equivalent degree is required.
In addition, students whose native language is not English must submit TOEFL scores.
The deadline for the fall semester is January 1 ; however, the deadline for financial aid consideration for the fall semester is January 1
UPDATE 9/2: The GRE subject test has been canceled by the testing provider. Accordingly, the GRE subject test will not be required for the 20-21 admissions application. Additionally, the GRE General test is no longer required for the 20-21 admissions application.

Admission to the minor requires an application to the Department and admission to a PhD program in another field at the University of Illinois.

Selection Criteri Awardees are selected based on the strength of their application for the chosen MS in Statistics program. This is determined by their academic performance in the most relevant mathematics and statistics courses, overall grade-point average, GRE scores, and the letters of recommendation included in the MS application.
Admission decisions will be based upon consideration of several factors including letters of recommendation, courses previously taken, GPA., and the number of places available in the program. The GPA average of the university recently admitted PhD students is 3.80 on a 4 point scale.
