Join your physical therapy classmates in Trinidad for two weeks this January. This experience is a travel extension of the Clinical Observation II and IV course. The purpose is to analyze the clinical performance of experienced practitioners in a non-US setting to gain an understanding of different physical therapy service delivery models and different health delivery systems. Students will experience the varied cultural aspects of service delivery in a Caribbean context. Students will observe master clinicians in pairs, which will enable collaborative learning with international colleagues. Upon return to New York, students will have an opportunity to integrate their observational experiences in a structured environment and share their learning with classmates.
Second and Third Year Doctor of Physical Therapy Students.
This course is an optional component and extension of the Spring Clinical Observation II or IV Spring course.
PLEASE NOTE: Students are responsible for purchasing transportation and airfare to from the program location. All students participating in the program are required to live in NYU-provided housing. Students are also responsible for their own accommodations for travel beyond the program dates.

Doctor of Physical Therapy - No GRE
Admission to Marist's Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program is competitive. Each applicant will be evaluated on his/her individual merits. Decisions will be based on academic records, references, and an on-campus interview.
All students admitted to the Marist DPT Program will be required to have a health screening and criminal background check completed prior to matriculation. Acceptance into and successful completion of the program does not imply or guarantee that the student will be able to obtain state licensure upon graduation.
The academic standard for admission is a 3.0 GPA overall, combined with a 3.0 GPA for science prerequisite courses. All of the above courses must be completed with grades of “C” or above. All science prerequisite courses MUST include a lab. Students can have no more than two prerequisites in progress at the time their application is submitted for verification. Submission of the following documentation is also required:
- TOEFL score (if high school graduate of a non-English speaking country)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been several changes to the admission criteria for the 2022-2023 application cycle.
GP A minimum 3.0 overall cumulative GPA
To better align with the revised Graduate School Handbook, Graduate and Professional Admissions will only consider the institutional GPA of the last degree earned when sending evaluations to the Graduate School for further review.
GP Admissions will still perform complete evaluations with all grades and a cumulative GPA for all schools attended to best serve program needs.

Applying early action does not obligate applicants to commit to Ohio State rather, it is an opportunity to interview earlier than the general pool of applicants. Those who apply for early action but are not selected for an interview may be deferred for interview in December, or may not receive an interview offer depending on the competitiveness of the application.

This post-professional residency program accomplishes in one year what otherwise might take a therapist many years to achieve professionally. UAB has an early acceptance program for academically superior high school seniors, attracting them to UAB’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program with guaranteed admission to the School of Health Professions after college.
Since acceptance to DPTEAP means acceptance to the physical therapy program, entry is highly competitive.
You must be admitted to the University by May 1 to join DPTEAP in the fall of the year of matriculation.

Submit three letters of recommendation to PTCAS. UAB will only accept letters of recommendation from PTCAS. The UAB DPT Program will not require the GRE in the 2023-2024 admissions cycle. Not submitting a GRE score will not negatively impact their application and the program will not consider GRE in decisions. If applicant are taking the GRE, take the general GRE test that includes three different sections: analytical writing, quantitative, and verbal.
The university admissions committee makes decisions based on needs of the program and the current impact of COVID on the university applicants. Applicants are required to take the Quantitative, Verbal, and Analytical / Writing components of the GRE. The scores must be reported before the application is complete. While a specific score on the GRE is not required, it is strongly recommended that applicants take the GRE as many times as needed to have competitive scores. Scores in the 60th percentile will generally put an applicant in the competitive range. If the applicant’s grade point average is lower, higher GRE scores may improve the application. During the admissions process, the highest GRE score for each section are considered.
The overall GPA is computed from all courses taken as an undergraduate, regardless of how many colleges or universities an applicant attended or how many times a particular course was taken. By retaking a course, the prerequisite GPA may improve slightly, but with a large number of credit hours, the effect of one course is minimal.
