Program Admission Requirements
Complete all required pre-requisite courses with a minimum cumulative grade point average and pre-requisite course GPA of 3.00 or greater on a 4.00 scale.
If a pre-requisite course is repeated, the credit hours assigned to the course may be counted only once in fulfilling the required number of hours. The pre-requisite GPA will be determined using the highest course grade achieved; however, both grades will be calculated into the cumulative GPA.
If cumulative GPA is less than 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, an applicant may still be eligible for admission if a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater has been achieved over the last 60 semester or 90 quarter hour credits of coursework.

Some universities weigh their admission decisions on certain areas of their application and their academic preparation more heavily than others.
The university recommend pre-physical therapy students at Marian strive for a 3.6 cumulative GPA with a minimum 3.45 GPA in science and math courses.
Most DPT programs require applicants to complete the Graduate Record Examination , a standardized exam.
The university curriculum, combined with carefully selected general education requirements, maximizes their exposure to content, problem-solving, and critical analyses covered on the GRE.
A specific major is not required, but specific prerequisite course work is required.

South College seeks to make available all online programs/courses to residents of Tennessee and other states, and to allow completion of required clinical or practical experiences in those states. As such, the university adhere to a set of national standards for interstate offering of post- secondary distance education courses and programs.
Their application materials are not complete until both have been received.
Completion and fee submission for the South College DPT Supplemental Application can be completed concurrently with their PTCAS Application through a link provided within PTCAS.
Both applications and all supporting materials must be submitted by the deadline in order for their application to be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. The South College DPT program will make offers of admission on a rolling basis so applicants are encouraged to apply early within the application cycle.
The fee for the South College DPT Supplemental Application is $60.

The South College DPT program does not grant advanced placement, credit for experiential learning, or transfer credits from other physical therapy programs or institutions. All courses within the professional didactic and clinical curriculum are required and must be completed in sequence to successfully complete the program.
The university program design consists of an accelerated two-year DPT curriculum that is delivered in a hybrid or blended learning format.
The university curriculum contains all of the required elements, but uses a blended learning model and an academic quarter system to improve the efficiency of its delivery.
Using this format, the university curriculum will combine the best aspects of online learning activities and interactions, hands-on laboratory sessions, and collaborative clinical education into an innovative and dynamic professional learning experience.
Based on the university 135 quarter credit program, 52% are completed using various online learning platforms, 19% are conducted as onsite lab immersions, and 29% are completed as clinical education experiences.
Blended learning courses consist of both online, distance learning activities and onsite, hands- on lab instruction. Generally speaking, students will begin each academic quarter with at least 7 weeks of online learning to establish a knowledge base within each content area. Students complete the 12-week academic quarter with additional online learning activities and required student assessments
Online didactic education is provided using the Canvas Learning Management System Asynchronous learning activities include recorded lectures, required and optional readings, online forum discussions, and individual and group assignments. Classes are held each week using the Blackboard Collaborate learning platform as an online virtual classroom.
Each onsite lab immersion session is scheduled at a strategic time in the academic quarter to facilitate learning and skill development.
Travel to Knoxville, Tennessee is required for orientation prior to initiating the program, onsite lab immersions during the first six academic quarters, and for a final program debriefing and graduation following completion of the program.
Students are required to maintain an overall 3.00 GPA to successfully complete the program.
Considering that the delivery of the curriculum of the program occurs through a blended- learning format, the university recognize that some students may desire to maintain some level of employment while enrolled.
Admissions Requirements for NSU Physical Therapy Professional Blended Program
The Professional Doctor of Physical Therapy program selects students based on cumulative grade point average , prior academic performance, work experience, references, interview, completed application and recommendations.

The GRE is considered along with all other application requirements including GPA, volunteer experience, educational maturity, and the interview.

Each year, the university receive a large number of completed application for a limited number of class positions.
While prior experience in a physical therapy setting is not required, this experience is considered a beneficial attribute and viewed positively by the Admissions Committee. PT mentoring and shadowing experiences are not required, but are encouraged.
Declining an invitation or failing to appear for a scheduled interview will result in rejection of their application. Early submission of their application can increase their chances of interview selection.
4+3 Early Assurance for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree Program
Students accepted into the 4+3 DPT Early Assurance program have guaranteed acceptance into SUNY Upstate's DPT program upon completion of their bachelor's degree providing they have met all conditions outlined in their acceptance letter.
Students accepted under the Early Assurance program will not be required to take the GRE Admitted Early Assurance students must complete all prerequisite courses with a grade of "C" or higher , and will be required to have a 3.3 cumulative and prerequisite GPA by the end of the fall semester junior year.
Please note that applicants can not submit an application for both 3+3 and 4+3 DPT.
The Application Process for the 4+3 DPT Early Assurance Program at SUNY Upstate Medical University
Complete the SUNY Upstate 4+3 DPT application and submit the $65 application fee. On the application, under "Graduate Programs", select the application "Physical Therapy - 4+3 Early Admission, Doctor of Physical Therapy Do not submit a SUNY application for SUNY Upstate for admission to Physical Therapy.
If possible, a letter of recommendation from a Physical Therapist that applicant have volunteered or worked for is stronglyrecommended.
While the deadline is February 1, the university recommend applicants submit their application by January 2.
