GRE score required at University of Pennsylvania master's degree programs in Anthropology
The Anthropology course will introduce students to the methods and theory of archaeology by exploring how we turn archaeological data into statements cultural behavior. We will discuss the place of archaeology in the broader field of anthropology and debate issues facing the discipline today. The course will rely on case studies from around the world and from many different time periods to introduce students to the research process, field and lab methods, and essential questions of archaeological anthropology. Students will have the opportunity to work hands-on with archaeological materials through visiting the galleries and working with Penn Museum collections.
The application system will close at midnight E.S.T. on December 15.

GRE scores are optional for all applicants. If a student chooses to submit GRE scores, they will be considered as part of the application package. There is no minimum GRE or TOEFL score requirement. Please arrange to take their exam by a date that will guarantee that their scores will be forwarded to the University of Pennsylvania by the December 15th deadline.
TOEFL Exam scores are required for all international applicants. There is no minimum TOEFL score requirment. The TOEFL is not required if applicant are currently enrolled in or have already graduated from another graduate program in the United States.

University at Buffalo GRE score and admission requirements for graduate programs in Social Sciences and Studies
This class is divided into two sections. Along the way some of the major questions will be encountered. The aim of the first section is to show something of what is at stake in terms of the importance of these issues for a full understanding of own behavioral heritage and yet, something of the frustration that accompanies this field will also be demonstrated. The second part of the class attempts to challenge students to arrive at conclusions how a scientific response to these questions and frustrations may be developed.

Statement of Purpose Generally, successful applicants have a strong background in either a geographic, cultural region and/or a particular topical or theoretical interest in anthropology.
The University at Buffalo does recommend submitting GRE scores for funding consideration at the unviersity.

GRE score required at The University of Montana master's degree programs in Anthropology
The Linguistics Option is primarily oriented toward academic research and most students conduct original research that results in a thesis that is used to satisfy the MA degree requirements. Anthropology 500, LING 570, and 6 credits in additional Anthropology or Linguistics graduate seminars this total may include 3 credits in an appropriate cooperative education experience (internship). A total 1 to 10 credits in ANTH 599, consistent with graduate school requirements (6 credits recommended). NOTE: This option differs from the MA in Linguistics, offered through the Linguistics Program.

Applicants to the Ph.D. program should include a significant writing sample as part of their application.
