Graduate Art History Program
Content is more important than length, although typically the statement is one or two single-spaced pages.
There are no minimum GRE scores required for admission to the graduate program in Art History. The admissions committee takes a holistic approach to its evaluation of applicants; the GRE score is only one part of a much larger picture. It is probably fair to say that a very strong application is rarely disqualified by less-than-stellar performance on the GRE.
Unofficial copies may be provided at the time of application.
Unofficial test scores may be submitted at the time of application. An official TOEFL or IELTS test score is required for enrollment in the program if the applicant is offered admission.
Incomplete applications and/or items received after the deadline will not be reviewed
GRE must be taken within the last 5 years with minimum scores of 300 total on the Verbal and Quantitative sections on the computer-based test and 3.5 on the Analytical Writing section
Their online application should be submitted at least two weeks before the deadline in order for their recommenders to have the opportunity to respond by the deadline. Their portfolio will not be considered if applicant do not submit this application.
The total cost for submitting the application is $65 for domestic applicants and $75 for international applicants.
The application fee comprises a $55 or $65 fee paid upon submission of the online IU application and a $10 fee paid upon submission of the online portfolio.
The transcript must demonstrate a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

If applicant have serious doubts about their English ability and are not financially prepared to undertake the additional time and expense of an intensive English program here, applicant may consider delaying their application to a future semester.

MFA Film Program
Minimum TOEFL/IELTS Scores: 575 , 90-91 or 6.5
Creative Portfolio of film and/or video work must be submitted with the application

5. Applicants to the Master of Science in Analytics program who do not meet the English Language Proficiency criteria must submit proof of English language proficiency. The Analytics program requires a minimum TOEFL 104 or IELTS 7 (no sub-score requirement). Only the TOEFL iBT or IELTS Academic tests are accepted as proof of proficiency.

Applications are evaluated by the same criteria regardless of whether applicant apply by the first or second deadline.

Scores are valid for five years from the date that applicant took the test and must be valid at the time that applicant submit their application. Applicant are responsible for including their test score on the online application and ensuring that Pearson VUE or ETS is able to release and send their official score report to NYU Stern. While an official test score is required for a final decision, the Admissions Committee can begin the review of their application with an unofficial test score.
The Admissions Committee will proceed with the evaluation of their application using their submitted score and may issue a decision prior to receiving additional test scores.
NYU Stern has no minimum GMAT, GRE or GMAC Executive Assessment score requirement.

If applicant do not have post-college work experience, please include information on any internships and part-time employment in their résumé and provide thorough answers to the application questions about activities and achievements.
Before submitting an application, all applicants are required to acknowledge the admission policies outlined and electronically sign the Statement of Certification.
Prior to submitting their online application, applicant will be prompted to pay the non-refundable application fee. Their application is not complete until the university receive payment of the application fee.
The application fee is non-refundable and may not be applied toward any future applications at NYU Stern or other NYU programs.

There are instructions in the application for sending reminders to their recommenders, if needed.
Once applicant receive approval, their recommender must obtain a certified English translation through a translating service and submit it in a sealed envelope with the original recommendation and endorse the envelope across the seal.
Requests should include a detailed rationale for the application fee waiver and will be considered by the Admissions Committee on a case-by-case basis.
Once an application fee is paid by an applicant, it is non-refundable.
This will not delay the evaluation of their application.
Re-Application and Applying to Multiple Programs within the Same Admissions Cycle
If applicant are not offered admission to the MSQM or withdraw their application, applicant may request to re-apply to the same program with a different start date or applicant may request to apply to a different program.
