The university apply a holistic approach to the university admissions process, considering all application materials submitted by an applicant.
There is no predetermined minimum required GRE score.
The University of Virginia-Main Campus does not make average GRE scores available, but in the past, admitted students typically had scores of at least 80th percentile on the quantitative section and 60th percentile on the verbal section. Please keep in mind that the GRE is only one part of the application.
Applicant must self-report either their GRE, or GMAT, or MCAT scores on the application.
If applicant wish to have their official GMAT scores sent, request that GMAC send an official score report to UVA, searching “University of Virginia” and then selecting “Data Science” as the program.
Not generally, but the university can use an old GMAT/GRE score even if ETS will no longer issue a report, provided applicant have a copy of the score report.
An additional statement summarizing the applicant’s relevant quantitative/technical work experience will be required through the online application.

The minimum paper-based TOEFL score requirement is 600. Applicants may submit scores from the International English Language Testing System instead of TOEFL scores. The minimum IELTS score requirement is 7.0 total and in each section

A non-refundable application fee of $85.00 is required prior to submission of the application. Applicant cannot be granted a fee waiver after payment of the application fee. An application will not be considered submitted until the fee is paid.
M.S. in Data Science University of Miami
Built upon a core of foundational data science courses in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Mathematics, and a selection of courses from data science application domains, the program is interdisciplinary in nature. Students interested in data science tools will be able to focus on tool principles and tool development, and students interested in data science application domains will be able to focus on the application of data science tools with a selection of courses that develop skills in one of three application areas. The program allows the various academic units involved to add courses in their specific application domains, thus keeping the program updated and relevant to current practice and industrial needs.
Applicants must rank in the 65% percentile or higher in the Quantitative Reasoning Test. There is no minimum score requirement for other parts of the GRE.

Applicants who meet the priority deadline will be significantly more likely to receive the results of their admissions decisions than applicants who apply by the regular deadline.

Admissions take into consideration the following items: undergraduate GPA, a relevant field of study, competitive GRE scores, work experience, a statement of purpose, TOEFL score (if applicable) and letters of recommendation (optional).
A typical candidate will have a regionally accredited bachelor’s degree in statistics, computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, electrical engineering or similar.
An atypical candidate will have a regionally accredited bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field but will have a passion for data science and be able to show their functional use of the topic through work experience. This information will need to be conveyed on an applicant’s CV and in their personal statement.
**As a temporary accommodation in response to COVID-19, the GRE requirement will be waived for all applicants for the spring 2021, summer 2021, fall 2021, and spring 2022 semesters. Students may continue to submit official GRE scores for consideration, but they will not be required to do so. GRE scores when provided, will continue to serve as just one of the many factors considered in our review of a student’s application.**
International applicants who are from a country where English is the only official language are exempt from this requirement. Additionally, applicants are exempt from the requirement if they possess a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. institution or an institution in a country where English is the only official language. The requirement is not waived for applicants who have earned a master’s—but not a bachelor’s—degree from a similar institution.
Data Science and Business Analytics, M.S.
Applicants must meet the general Graduate School requirements for admission to Master’s Degree programs. In addition to the general requirements for admission to the Graduate School, an earned baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in any scientific, engineering or business discipline or a closely related field is required.
Have a cumulative or graduate GPA of 3.0 and above from a nationally accredited college or university in the United States.
Have successfully completed a minimum of two of the required courses in the Graduate Certificate in Data Science and Business Analytics with a GPA of 3.5 or above, with no than one grade of B, and a letter of recommendation from at least one of the course instructors.
Individuals who have worked at a high professional level in the computer industry or business may be able to substitute work experience for specific subject area admission requirements. Individuals without a business degree or business experience are required to complete an business fundamentals course prior to enrolling in the program.

In order to be appointed a TA, international applicants must take either the Test of Spoken English and receive a score of 50 or higher or take the TOEFL IBT and receive a score of 26 or higher on the speaking section.
Fellowships are extremely competitive and generally applicants will need to have exceptional GRE scores and GPAs.

Recommendation Letters– Minimum of Three, Objective Evaluation of student’s independent problem-solving, writing skills, analytical reasoning, and ability to work alone and in a team environment to produce valid research results.
The statement should describe their purpose for undertaking or continuing graduate study, their reasons for wanting to study at Purdue, and their professional plans, career goals, and research interests.

Prospective students seeking financial support should indicate their interest on the admissions application form. GRE or GMAT scores are required of all applicants to doctoral programs, all applicants seeking financial support, and all applicants whose most recent degree was awarded from an institution outside of the United States.
To be considered for FWS, eligible students must file the FAFSA no later than the February 15th priority deadline.
Students must take the GRE or GMAT and arrange to have official score reports to be sent to NJIT before they may become eligible to receive awards. Although there is no minimum eligibility score for the GRE or GMAT, NJIT may establish them for certain awards.
Students must earn at least a 3.0 GPA each semester, as well as maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 to keep receiving their awards. A 3.0 GPA will also maintain awards that initially required higher GPAs to receive them.
