Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution with at least a cumulative 3.0 grade-point average Relevant coursework taken after the baccalaureate degree will be taken into consideration. The baccalaureate degree must be conferred before the program starts in August.
A limited work schedule may be possible for some students, but will likely increase the time required to earn the M.P.H. degree.
Students seeking the master’s degree may request to transfer course work to their graduate transcript. Students seeking a doctoral degree normally will not transfer course work; programs may accept course work taken elsewhere in place of required program course work provided the student is able to demonstrate the equivalence of such courses. This may be done as long as the units have not already been used to satisfy the requirements for another degree.
GREs are required for all applicants, with two exceptions: current students in, or recent graduates of, a US or Canadian MD/DO degree program may submit MCAT scores in lieu of the GRE providing these were taken within 10 years of application, current students or recent graduates of a the students.S. MBA program may submit the GMAT scores in lieu of GRE providing these were taken within 7 years of application. The GRE and other submitted test scores must be taken within 7 years of application, except as noted. There is no minimum for test scores.Complete and submit results from the Graduate Record Exam
Employee students may enroll for up to nine units or three courses per quarter or semester, whichever is greater.

Volunteer or work experience with direct patient care in a healthcare setting: minimum of 1,000 hours. The most competitive applicants have significantly greater than 1,000 hours of work experience, and this experience typically requires a period of training and results in direct involvement in patient care.
The minimum technical standards establish the essential qualities considered necessary for students admitted to this program to achieve the knowledge, skills and competencies of an entry-level physician assistant.
