If applicant have unanswered questions at the submission deadline, please submit their application on time. The university will assist applicant with any remaining issues after applicant have submitted the application.
An interview is not part of the initial application process for the Division of the Humanities, though some programs do interview groups of applicants during the application review process.
Once applicant have submitted their application, applicant can view the status of their recommendation letters on their application status page.
Once applicant have submitted their application, applicant may continue to add and remind recommenders until University of Chicago has received the required three letters.
Recommenders may continue to submit letters after the deadline and they will be added to their file. With letters submitted more than one week after the deadline, the university cannot guarantee the selection committee will include them in their review. Please ask their recommenders to submit their letters within one week of their submission deadline.
Self-reporting their scores in their application allows us to better review their application while the university await the arrival of their official scores from ETS.
The university urge applicant to take the GRE no later than November to avoid these issues.
The Division of the Humanities does not have minimum required GRE scores or GPA to be considered for admissions.
All admission decisions will be made available to individual applicants through the online application.
