Engineering Sciences Applied Mathematics

The application and all materials must be submitted by this date to be given full consideration.

Successful applicants typically have good grades in relevant mathematics courses, good GRE quantitative scores, and strong letters of recommendation.

The Northwestern University consider prior academic performance, research and other professional experience, GRE scores, and overall potential to successfully pursue graduate study in the university department.

Foreign students from non-English speaking countries must also take the Test of English as a Foreign Language or the International English Language Testing System exam.

The university cannot waive the application fee.

A financial statement is not necessary for the application process, but in some cases in may be requested before enrollment.

The current minimum stipend level for all fellowships and assistantships provided by Northwestern is $2,417 per month.

The University of California-Berkeley does not offer any part-time, evening or distance learning degree programs.

There is only one application for admission and fellowships.

General GRE scores

Minimum score: computer based: 230; paper based: 570; internet based : 90.

Admissions is based on all aspects of the application, not just GRE scores. While there is no minimum requirement for the GRE, admitted applicants generally score in the high percentiles especially on the quantitative section of the exam.

The University of California-Berkeley does not require the Math subject test but if the scores are available applicant may submit it as part of their application.

College description: Master of Science in Applied and Computational Mathematics.The Mathematics and Statistics at University of Michigan-Dearborn currently offers a Master of Science Degree in Applied and Computational Mathematics.The key components of this evening program involve the integration of applied mathematics, mathematical modeling and numerical analysis.Samantha Yassine, MS in Applied and Computational Mathematics, '17.Development of skills in these areas is the primary purpose of the Master’s Degree Program in Applied and Computational Mathematics.Provide graduate-level education in applied mathematics in order to develop comprehension of principles of applied mathematics and skills in employing those principles in industrial or scientific settings.At least fifteen of the hours must be Mathematics and Statistics courses. Academic Statement of Purpose

TOEFL or IELTS Exam

Mathematics majors with excellent grades in mathematics courses, outstanding GRE scores in the mathematics subject test, and excellent letters of recommendation.

Based on historical data, the university expect that successful applicants to the Ph.D. program will have an overall GPA of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.

While there are no minimum acceptable GRE scores, a high standard is expected.

Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics

College description: The department offers specialized programs in applied mathematics.At least 15 hours of courses designated MATH.At least 6 hours of courses not designated MATH.Given the great diversity of topics used in applications, there cannot be a large common core of requirements for the MS in applied mathematics. In addition, to add breadth to the student’s education, the set of courses designated MATH must include three credit hours of approved coursework in at least three of the following seven breadth areas. Please note that a course may be used to satisfy only one breadth area requirement.).

The application fee is $50.00 and is nonrefundable.

The application fee cannot be waived for any reason.

The fee is considered part of the application. Their application will be considered incomplete if the fee is not received. Their application will not be reviewed unless it is complete.

Online application fees must be paid by credit card.

The university requires the TOEFL for all international applicants and the Department of Mathematics requires the GRE General test for all applicants.

Graduate Programs

College description: The Mathematics program has, if anything, been strengthened by the reorganization of Tulane University in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.The Mathematics Department at Tulane University offers a Ph.D. degree in Mathematics as well as Master of Science degrees in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and in Statistics.GRE Mathematics Test and or GRE General Test for Masters applicants.All candidates for Teaching Assistantships in the Mathematics are considered for these fellowships.The incoming graduate students are advised by the Graduate Studies Coordinator of the Mathematics Department.
