College description: Masters students may purchase health insurance through the University or they must provide evidence that they are insured through another source.In general the university accommodate between 3 and 5 PhD applicants and 1 or 2 Masters applicants each year.However, the average PhD applicant admitted to the program typically has GRE scores of 1200 or . Most all PhD students admitted to the program have some research experience in an active laboratory. Masters students that matriculate to the university program typically have similar scores as the PhD students. However, Masters students without prior research experience are given the same consideration as those with research experience.Masters students are only required to complete 2 rotations.This is a highly competitive program and may not be available for all accepted applicants.PhD students typically graduate in 5-6 years. Masters students typically require 2-3 years to finish.Courses in Statistics and Ethics are also required along with introductory and advanced courses in Pharmacology , and 2-3 advanced elective courses in areas relevant to the specific area of the student dissertation research. In addition, a Journal Club course is required each semester and a course in Teaching Pharmacology is required for advanced students

Minimum Requirements for Admission for Masters of Arts Degree in Biostatistics at UC Regents:
1. A bachelor’s degree or recognized equivalent from an accredited institution.
2. A grade point average of B or better (3.0).
3. If the applicant comes from a country or political entity (e.g., Quebec) where English is not the official language, adequate proficiency in English to do graduate work, as evidenced by a TOEFL score of at least 90 on the iBT test, 570 on the paper-and-pencil test, or an IELTS Band score of at least 7 on a 9-point scale.
4. Sufficient undergraduate training to do graduate work in the given field.
