PA Application and Requirements
Review the admission requirements and application process thoroughly to help ensure your application is complete and processed quickly.
Submit a completed and verified application through the Centralized Application System for Physician Assistant (CASPA).
1. GRE REQUISITES
Completed GRE prior to application.
(i)No minimum score required.
(ii)The score will be used in the evaluation for entry into the program.
(iii)GRE scores will only be accepted within the past five years of the applications.
(iv)Enter your GRE in CASPA. CASPA will retrieve the official score from ETS.
2. GPA & COURSE REQUISITES
Earn a cumulative and science GPA of 3.0 or higher as calculated by CASPA. If you have a 3.0 or less, then we will accept a GPA from a Master’s level program or a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher from at least one semester/term of a graduate-level certificate or degree program. The graduate program curriculum must include coursework in Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology/Immunology, and Biochemistry.
3. DEGREE REQUISITES
Earn a baccalaureate degree conferred from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. If you are still in progress of conferring/completing your bachelor degree program, you must have your degree on an official transcript prior to the start of the program.
4. LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION
Submit two letters of recommendation:
(i)One letter of recommendation must be from a medical provider such as a physician assistant, nurse practitioner or physician.
(ii)It is recommended that one letter is from a PA.

There are no set criteria such as minimum GRE scores, grade point averages, or letters of recommendation.
To Graduate Programs
Therefore, there is no specific minimum or “cut-off” score for GPA, GRE and/or GMAT used during the evaluation process. Either GRE or GMAT scores are required; however, there is no preference for GRE or GMAT in the admission process.
To be eligible for a university-wide fellowship, applicants must submit GRE scores.

To be considered for admission, applicants to the graduate program must have earned an overall GPA of 3.0 or better in their previous academic studies.
There is no minimum GRE requirement. Applications are reviewed holistically with GRE scores as one piece of information.

Early decision candidates must take the GRE and request scores no later than August 1.
GRE: applicant will need to request that their most current Graduate Education Examinations score be sent to us. GRE must have been taken within five years of application to the university program. There is no minimum GRE score.
GP A minimum of 3.0 overall GPA is required. The university expect that most accepted students will surpass this minimum.

At Dominican University, no credit is granted for pre-admission experiential learning, prior coursework, degrees, certifications or advanced training.

No minimum GRE score, however strength of GRE scores relative to the applicant pool will be considered as part of the admission process.
In the event an applicant is unable to fulfill these technical standards prior to or any time after admission, with or without reasonable accommodation, the student will not be allowed to enter or progress within the program.
