The MS in Medical Nutrition will target medical students, residents, and fellows; physician assistant students; and other students in health professions.

Students completing the MS in Medical Nutrition program will be proficient in basic nutritional sciences; have the skills to evaluate a patient’s diet and current nutritional status based on the Dietary Guidelines; understand how to integrate nutritional assessment information into an individualized nutritional management plan for optimal health and risk factor reduction; and be able to evaluate research evidence for most accurate, current general and disease-specific nutritional information and recommendations.

This course is an introduction to the basic aspects of nutrition research , including the research question/hypothesis, study design, subjects selection, methods of data collection , and data handling and analyses.

Applicants are eligible to apply to the program if they have earned a bachelor's or master's degree, in any field, from a regionally accredited institution.
