Scholarships and Grants - Financial Aid in Clinical Research Coordinator - Updated 2020

The School of Behavioral and Applied Sciences offers a 15 percent tuition discount for eligible employees of the Community Research Foundation, their spouses, and their dependents up to age 26 starting in the M.A. in Clinical Psychology: Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program at APU’s San Diego Regional Campus. Funds are allocated to provide four Teaching-Research Assistantships (TRAs) each academic year per cohort for a total of 16 positions throughout the program. TRAs must provide 8 hours of service per week in the Clinical Psychology from September through June of each academic year. Applications for the assistantships and criteria for evaluation of applications are available in the Clinical Psychology. Students awarded graduate assistantships are expected to work an average of 15 hours week for one full year, assisting instructors with classroom and research duties.

He completed a three-year research and clinical fellowship in neurology (movement disorders) at Harvard Medical School Massachusetts General Hospital in 1995. Dr. Standaert clinical teaching has consisted of: serving as an attending physician on the MGH Neurology inpatient service, one month each year teaching residents, fellows and medical students in the Movement Disorders clinic on a weekly basis and teaching in Resident clinic once a month. Dr. Standaert serves as Director of the Center for Neurodegeneration and Experimental Therapeutics, Director of the Division of Movement Disorders in the Neurology, Director of the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) Advanced Center for Parkinson Research, and Director of the UAB Bachmann-Straus Dystonia and Parkinson’s Disease Center of Excellence. The combination of these areas within a single department facilitates integrative studies addressing normal and clinical nutrition, food and health issues, food service, as well as hospitality management. For the MS degree, the student may specialize in general, community, clinical or sports nutrition, food service management, or hotel and restaurant management. The Auburn University ISPP Experience emphasis is in Clinical Nutrition. The supervised practice is completed regionally in Alabama and Georgia (within an approximate 60 mile radius) or may be arranged via distance at student-coordinated sites subject to approval by the ISPP coordinator. Teaching, research, and extension assistantships are awarded competitively to qualified students.

Scholarships are to be awarded to nursing students entering the clinical component of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. The George and Patricia Dorsett Scholarship for Christian Ministries and Nursing was established to provide scholarships to be awarded to a University of Mobile nursing student(s) who is entering the clinical component of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. Scholarships are to be awarded to full-time students entering the clinical component of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program.
