Scholarships and Grants - Financial Aid in Computer and Information Sciences

CSET Award (programmatic awards for computer science, information technology, computer programming and engineering majors) This program awards $500 per academic year to students who are admissible to GCU and enroll in one of our computer science, information technology, computer programming or engineering programs. The grant is part of the National Science Foundation Scholarship in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S-STEM) project, which aims to increase the STEM workforce by recruiting and supporting academically talented, low-income students through degree completion, and partnering with employers to facilitate job placement. All scholarships require that applicant be enrolled in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering at Montana State University, normally be registered for a minimum of 15 credits, and maintain a semester GPA of at least 3.0 to be eligible for the scholarship the following semester.

In addition to the MSU Achievement Award scholarships awarded automatically, the College of Engineering and the ECE Department offer scholarships to qualified applicants on a competitive basis. All scholarships require that applicant be enrolled in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering at Montana State University, normally be registered for a minimum of 15 credits, and maintain a semester GPA of at least 3.0 to be eligible for the scholarship the following semester. Federal State financial aid regulations require that each student receiving financial aid have all necessary documents returned to the Financial Aid Office before funds may be distributed to the student. The Financial Aid Office reserves the right to adjust the student’s aid to insure all aid received does not exceed the total cost of attendance or financial need. Students have the opportunity to appeal their financial aid suspension before the next semester begins. Appeal dates are set by the Director of Financial Aid and those seeking an appeal must submit all requested documentation to have their appeal reviewed by the SAP committee. If granted an appeal, students may remain eligible for aid and return to satisfactory standing following stipulations set forth by the appeal committee.

The College of Science Mathematics at the University of North Georgia (UNG) has received a federal grant for nearly $615,000 to support students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. The grant will provide annual, competitive scholarships of $4,362 to 24 talented, full-time freshmen who do not have their financial needs met through traditional financial aid. Twelve scholarships will be awarded to students on UNG Dahlonega Campus and 12 to students on UNG Gainesville Campus. The grant is part of the National Science Foundation Scholarship in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S-STEM) project, which aims to increase the STEM workforce by recruiting and supporting academically talented, low-income students through degree completion, and partnering with employers to facilitate job placement. The ACERS Scholarship (Achievement in ComputER Science) is a merit-based scholarship for students who can demonstrate a degree of financial need greater than that of the scholarship. Twenty ACER scholarships are awarded each semester specifically to UNO Computer Science students. The COMPLETER scholarship (COMPuter science cLosE to TERminus) is meant to aid students who are nearing graduation, which significant financial need, to finish their degrees without having to take gap semesters to pay for school.
