Top 10 grants for Graduate School Students

Grants are available to and graduate students. The Graduate Student Association oversees the distribution of research and conference grant funding through a competitive application process that occurs four times per fiscal year. GSA grants are supplemental in nature to aid in the academic and professional development of UNC’s graduate students. Due to the limited nature of grant funding, each application cycle is highly competitive and designed to expose graduate students to the scrutiny and subjectivity of grants in the public and private sectors. If requesting an enrollment grant, applicants’ essays should briefly describe the ways in which their proposed graduate studies meet the Impact Project criteria. The Roy Scrivner Research Grants provide graduate student grants for empirical or applied research that encourages the study of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender family psychology and LGBT family therapy. Biomedical engineering graduate student Nasim has recently been awarded a grant for $60,000 per year, and is renewable for an additional year.
