Analyzing decentralized resource regimes from a polycentric perspective. The emphasis on multi-level dynamics has not penetrated empirical studies of environmental policy reforms in non-industrial countries. On the contrary, many of today’s decentralization proponents seem to be infatuated with the local sphere, expecting that local actors are always able and willing to govern their natural resources effectively. Existing studies in this area often focus exclusively on characteristics and performance of local institutions.

All research proposals first need review and approval at the School level, then at the University level before it can be submitted to the sponsor. All research proposals require final sign-off by the Executive Dean (who is the final approver on behalf of the Dean). We also work with the Office for Sponsored Programs (OSP) which is the central administration office responsible for sponsored programs throughout Harvard and oversees the entire lifecycle of an award, including pre-award, research finance, and sponsored financial reporting, billing and collection.
