Course Description
Pacific University locations will open two hours late Wednesday, March 1, in alignment with local school districts. Campus facilities will open two hours later than their normal operations. Classes scheduled to start before 10 a.m. will be canceled or online at normal times. The two hour-delay also applies to Pacific clinics and the Early Learning Community.
This course provides an introduction to legal research methods, including state and federal reported cases, digests, annotated codes, state and federal administrative regulations, and computerized legal research, as well as an introduction to the writing of case briefs and memoranda. This course is also an advanced examination of aspects of evidence acquisition, evaluation, and preservation with special consideration of the legal context including its use in the trial process. This course is designed to provide additional insights concerning the proper use of evidence and its admissibility. (3 units Fall).
Understand the intersection of psychology, law, and social justice. Prepare to work as a change agent within your community. This psychology degree program is based on a philosophy of restorative justice and designed to prepare students to make an impact in the criminal justice system. Students learn engaging individuals through the lens of the principles of forensic psychology, co-occurring mental health and substance use behaviors, and post-traumatic disorders.
