DESCRIPTION

If you are an American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander or an Indigenous person from Canada and are pursuing a STEM education, the AISES Virtual National Conference is the place to be! Attendance will allow students to explore the role of STEM in meeting the challenges of a global society and expand the experience and leadership opportunities of young professionals in STEM. Students will be able to virtually meet researchers, practitioners, and leaders currently engaged in STEM studies and careers.

Scholarships will cover the costs of the virtual conference registration fees. Students who are awarded a National Conference scholarship will be expected to attend all of the sessions and events of the conference.

Eligibility Criteria

Self-identify as an American Indian or Alaska Native enrolled in, affiliated with, or a descendant of a federally recognized tribe. Native Hawaiians, Pacific Islanders, or members of an Indigenous group of Canada can also apply

Must be a full-time (12 credit hours or more) student at a two-year or four-year college or university, enrolled in a program leading to an academic degree (not a certificate) in a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) field.

Must commit to attending the entire conference.

Latest official transcripts (issued by your school registrar’s office) are required

Must be a member of AISES. To obtain an AISES membership go to http://www.aises.org/membership/

Have not previously received a travel scholarship from AISES.

Application Requirements are:

1. A completed Travel Scholarship Essay

2. 2 letters of recommendation

3. A current resume

4. Verification of current school enrollment and standing

5. GPA
