DESCRIPTION

The New York University Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute is proud to offer a new full-tuition scholarship to a Native American Journalism Association (NAJA) member admitted to one of the ten NYU Journalism graduate programs

The goal of the NYU Journalism-NAJA scholarship is to support an exceptional journalist who might not otherwise have the opportunity to earn a graduate journalism degree in one of the school’s top-level NYU graduate journalism programs

Eligibility Criteria

US citizen

To be eligible to receive the scholarship, applicants must be enrolled juniors, seniors, or graduate students at an accredited university in the United States pursuing a degree in digital media/journalism/communications with a commitment to storytelling as demonstrated by completed coursework, clips/work samples and a letter of recommendation from professor or internship supervisor familiar with their work and attesting to career commitment.

Students must be NAJA members and may apply for the scholarship annually, although awards will only be granted one time and through one organization only (NAJA, NAHJ, AAJA or NLGJA) over the course of the five-year award cycle, extending through 2023.
