DESCRIPTION

The Andrew York Memorial Scholarship was established by Chelan County PUD employees to honor the memory of a co-worker, Andrew York, who was killed in a tragic accident. This scholarship is dedicated to increasing opportunities for public education and awareness about the tragedies caused by impaired driving and the dangers of not wearing seat belts. The committee seeks to honor graduating seniors in Washington State who are active in the community by providing awareness to prevent impaired or distracted driving caused by influences such as drug, alcohol, and marijuana use or texting while driving. Preference is given to students who are active members of IBEW Local 77 (child or grandchild) and are eligible regardless of financial need.
